Michael J. Mascis brings extensive trial experience to Sullivan & Sullivan LLP. He began his legal career in public service as an Assistant District Attorney in Norfolk County, then served as an Assistant Attorney General in both the Civil Division and the Environmental Division. Michael and his family later lived in Virginia, where he served as an Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney.

In the private sector, Michael was Senior Staff Trial Counsel for a national insurance company, litigating cases for its Major Case Unit in the areas of construction law, medical malpractice, motor vehicle collisions, and products liability. Over the course of his career, he has participated in hundreds of mediations and arbitrations and has tried cases in District, Superior, and federal courts across the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

​Michael has also represented clients before the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination, the Industrial Accident Board, the Registry of Motor Vehicles, and the Boards of Registration in Medicine and Dentistry. He has prepared briefs and argued appellate cases before the Supreme Judicial Court and the Appeals Court.

​He earned a fellowship at the University of Michigan, received his J.D. from Suffolk University Law School, and graduated cum laude with a B.A. from the University of Massachusetts.

Michael is admitted to practice in Massachusetts, the United States District Court, and formerly in Virginia.

​

​An active member of the legal community, Michael belongs to the Norfolk County Bar Association and is in the process of joining the Massachusetts Academy of Trial Attorneys.
